BUNDAS ONLINE STORE
RETURN, REFUND & EXCHANGE POLICY
Website: www.bundas.co.za
In-Store Name: B-911
Effective Date: 4 September 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
Bundas Online Store (“Bundas”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to providing customers with quality products and a fair shopping experience.
This Return, Refund and Exchange Policy applies to purchases made through:
Bundas Online Store: www.bundas.co.za
and, where applicable, purchases made at our physical retail store:
B-911 Store (“B-911”)
This Policy explains when products may be returned, exchanged, repaired or refunded and sets out the procedures customers should follow.
This Policy is intended to operate in accordance with applicable South African consumer-protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
Where this Policy conflicts with a mandatory right provided to a consumer by South African law, the applicable law will prevail.
2. YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS
Customers are entitled to receive goods that are reasonably suitable for their intended purpose, of good quality, in good working order and free from defects, subject to the limitations permitted by law.
Under the CPA, qualifying defective, unsafe or poor-quality goods may generally be returned within six months of delivery or purchase, subject to the requirements of the Act.
Depending on the circumstances, the customer may be entitled to request:
- A repair;
- A replacement; or
- A refund.
These statutory rights cannot be removed by a “no returns” policy.
3. RETURNS OF UNWANTED PRODUCTS
If you purchase a product from www.bundas.co.za and simply change your mind, the return will depend on the applicable legal right and the nature of the product.
Where Bundas voluntarily allows a change-of-mind return, the product should generally:
- Be unused;
- Be in its original condition;
- Have its original packaging where reasonably possible;
- Include all accessories, manuals and components;
- Include proof of purchase; and
- Not have been damaged, altered or misused by the customer.
Bundas reserves the right to inspect returned products before approving a voluntary change-of-mind return.
A change-of-mind return is different from a return involving a defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or unsuitable product.
4. ONLINE PURCHASES AND COOLING-OFF RIGHTS
Certain electronic transactions may qualify for statutory cancellation or cooling-off rights under South African law.
Where a customer has a statutory cooling-off right, Bundas will honour that right in accordance with the applicable legislation.
The customer’s rights may depend on:
- The method through which the transaction was concluded;
- The nature of the product;
- Whether the product has been used;
- Whether the product is excluded from the applicable statutory right; and
- Whether the required cancellation period and return requirements have been met.
Customers should contact Bundas as soon as possible when they wish to exercise a statutory cancellation right.
5. INCORRECT PRODUCT DELIVERED
If Bundas sends you the wrong product, please contact us as soon as possible.
Depending on the circumstances, Bundas may:
- Arrange collection or return of the incorrect product;
- Send the correct product; or
- Provide an appropriate refund.
Customers should not alter, use or dispose of the incorrect product while the return is being processed.
6. DAMAGED PRODUCT ON DELIVERY
Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a product arrives visibly damaged, the customer should:
- Take photographs of the product and packaging;
- Keep the original packaging;
- Contact Bundas as soon as possible; and
- Provide the order number or proof of purchase.
Bundas will assess the matter and determine the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
7. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
If a product is defective, unsafe or fails to meet the applicable quality requirements, customers may have statutory rights under the CPA.
A qualifying product may be returned within the applicable statutory period.
After assessment, the customer may, depending on the circumstances and applicable law, be entitled to:
- Repair;
- Replacement; or
- Refund.
Bundas may inspect or test the product to establish the nature of the alleged defect.
A customer’s statutory rights will not be removed merely because a product is sold at a discounted price or during a promotional sale, unless the law permits a particular limitation.
8. PRODUCTS DAMAGED THROUGH MISUSE
A return, repair, replacement or refund may not be available where the problem resulted from:
- Accidental damage;
- Misuse;
- Abuse;
- Negligence;
- Incorrect installation;
- Failure to follow operating instructions;
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications;
- Physical alterations;
- Water or liquid damage where inappropriate;
- Electrical damage caused by an unsuitable power supply; or
- Normal wear and tear where applicable.
This clause does not remove any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. PRODUCTS THAT CANNOT REASONABLY BE RETURNED
Certain products may have special return requirements because of their nature.
Examples may include:
- Products intended for consumption;
- Certain hygiene or personal-care products once opened;
- Products that have been personalised;
- Products manufactured or ordered specifically to a customer’s specifications;
- Software or digital products where applicable;
- Products that have been permanently installed or altered; and
- Other products where applicable law restricts or excludes return.
Where a product has a statutory return right, the statutory right will take precedence.
10. SALE, CLEARANCE AND SPECIAL-OFFER PRODUCTS
Products purchased during sales, promotions, clearance events or special offers may be subject to specific commercial terms.
However, a sale or discounted price does not automatically remove a customer’s statutory rights relating to defective or unsafe goods.
Where a product is sold with a clearly disclosed defect or condition and the customer knowingly accepts that condition, the applicable legal consequences may differ.
11. EXCHANGES
Where an exchange is permitted, customers may request:
- The same product;
- Another model;
- Another size or variation, where applicable; or
- Another product of similar value, subject to availability and applicable terms.
If the replacement product is more expensive, the customer may be required to pay the difference.
If the replacement product is cheaper, the applicable refund or credit will be processed in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.
12. REFUNDS
Approved refunds will normally be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Depending on the payment method, refunds may take additional time to appear in the customer’s bank or payment account.
Bundas is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Banks;
- Payment processors;
- Card issuers;
- Electronic payment systems; or
- Other third-party financial institutions.
Where a refund is legally required, Bundas will process the refund in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
13. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS
The party responsible for return or collection costs depends on the reason for the return and the applicable law.
For example:
Incorrect product supplied:
Bundas will generally arrange an appropriate return or collection solution.
Defective product covered by applicable consumer rights:
Return costs will be handled in accordance with the customer’s statutory rights.
Voluntary change-of-mind return:
The customer may be responsible for return or collection costs where permitted by law and the applicable terms of the purchase.
14. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN
To request a return, customers should contact Bundas and provide:
- Full name;
- Order number or receipt number;
- Product name;
- Date of purchase;
- Reason for return;
- Photographs where relevant; and
- Contact details.
Customers should not send products back without first receiving return instructions where Bundas requires a return authorisation.
15. RETURN CONDITION
Customers should return products securely packaged to prevent damage during transportation.
Where applicable, the return should include:
- Original packaging;
- Accessories;
- Manuals;
- Cables;
- Parts;
- Warranty documentation;
- Proof of purchase; and
- Any other items supplied with the product.
Bundas may inspect returned goods before determining the appropriate remedy, subject always to the customer’s statutory rights.
16. PROOF OF PURCHASE
Proof of purchase may include:
- Online order confirmation;
- Tax invoice;
- Receipt;
- Payment confirmation;
- Order number; or
- Other reasonable evidence of purchase.
For purchases made at B-911, customers should retain their original till slip or other proof of purchase.
17. B-911 IN-STORE PURCHASES
Purchases made directly from the physical B-911 Store are subject to the same applicable South African consumer-protection legislation.
Customers returning an item purchased at B-911 should, where possible, bring:
- The product;
- Original packaging;
- Accessories;
- Proof of purchase; and
- Any applicable warranty documentation.
B-911 may inspect the product before processing a return, exchange, repair or refund.
18. BUNDAS ONLINE PURCHASES
Products purchased through www.bundas.co.za may be subject to additional online ordering, delivery and electronic transaction procedures.
Customers should use their online order number when contacting Bundas about a return.
Where the law provides a particular online cancellation or cooling-off right, Bundas will process the request in accordance with that right.
19. WARRANTY
Some products may include a manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty in addition to the consumer rights provided by South African law.
Warranty terms may differ between products and manufacturers.
Customers should retain all warranty documentation supplied with their products.
A manufacturer’s warranty does not necessarily replace or remove statutory consumer rights.
20. FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE RETURNS
Bundas reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive return activity.
Examples may include:
- Returning a product that was not purchased from Bundas;
- Deliberately damaging a product;
- Providing false information;
- Returning counterfeit or substituted products;
- Repeated fraudulent refund claims; or
- Attempting to exploit the return process unlawfully.
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s legitimate statutory rights.
21. REFUSAL OF UNLAWFUL RETURNS
Bundas may refuse a return where:
- There is no valid legal or contractual basis for the return;
- The product has been deliberately damaged;
- The customer has materially misused the product;
- The product was not purchased from Bundas or B-911; or
- The requested remedy is not available under applicable law.
Any refusal will be subject to the customer’s rights under applicable South African legislation.
22. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Bundas encourages customers to contact us first so that we can attempt to resolve any complaint quickly and fairly.
Customers should provide their order number, receipt number and details of the complaint.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the customer may have the right to pursue the matter through the appropriate South African consumer-protection or dispute-resolution channels.
23. GOVERNING LAW
This Return, Refund and Exchange Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or waived.
24. POLICY UPDATES
Bundas may update this Policy from time to time to reflect:
- Changes in legislation;
- Changes to our products;
- Changes to our online store;
- Changes to our return procedures; or
- Improvements to our customer service processes.
The latest version published on www.bundas.co.za will apply to transactions subject to that version, subject to applicable law.
